I'm from Utah, and yes, I'm a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. You know, "Mormon" or "LDS". My religion is a really big part of my life, and I'm almost always making new discoveries about it and myself. Oh, by the way... There are a lot of... well... crazy (that's putting it nicely) beliefs about us "Mormons" out there. Unlike most Mormons, though, I don't care where you get the information about us, whether it's from LDS.org (our website) or any of the people or websites who seem to... hmm... how to put this kindly... uh, not like "Mormons." I don't care where you get the information, but if you take it from a website, at least ask a Mormon if it's true... There are sites and people out there that will say that we do everything from not dancing(which we do) to eating our children. (Boy, I hope that last one's not true. Wait, if it was, how did I get here?) All I've got to say is never trust a stereotype.

My profile will probably be in a constant state of renovation. I have a lot to put down. Of course, maybe a lot of it can be left to learn later on, if someone's interested...

To begin:
In the month of July, on the 27th day, of the year 2009, I arrived in California for the first time in my life; but this was not to be a pleasure visit. Rather, it was to be three months of near completely changing my life. It was in the midst of San Diego that I lived an uncommon lifestyle under the constant supervision of drill instructors. My new home was the Marine Corps Recruit Depot.

I spent, as I mentioned earlier, three months of the most gruelling training in our country's armed forces. I made it through to the end, earning the full title "Marine" on the 23rd of October, 2009. I have spent the past few months furthering my training to become a successful asset to the Corps. At present I am a Private First Class (E-2) stationed at Camp Johnson, North Carolina.

My past experiences were never the way that I would have hoped. I've always wanted to meet that special person in my life. I'm definately not a player, and would never cheat on anyone. I would expect the same in return. If I'm to hook up with someone, I would want it to last; hopefully for good.

I'll read almost anything. With the possible exception of horror. I use to write poetry a lot. But I have not written much the last few years. Sort of lost my inspiration or something, I guess. I like to play pool, it can be a good stress releaser and its fun. I also enjoy doing jigsaw puzzles, they can be lots of fun too. I like to do things with my hands, like sewing, crocheting, latch hooking, and embroidery. Although the RA prevents me from doing some of that stuff now. :( I really am a cat person at heart. If I could, I would take in every stray cat I see/find. When it comes to music, I tend to stick with Country and music from the 50's and 60's. Although I have been known to listen to a few songs by Britney Spears and The Back Street Boys. Was recently introduced to the music of Dar Williams, love her stuff. And I love to watch movies. I think horror is really the only kind of movie I won't watch. I don't care for super violent or war movies. But, will watch if need be (i.e. As a way to spend time with a loved one). And I love Disney movies.

My personal belief is that we each have a heart full of an endless supply of love. And that we are capable of loving more then one person at a time. Although the degree of love may vary from person to person. Which is one of the reasons why I feel Polyamory is such a perfect philosophy/lifestyle/whatever ya want to call it.

I also believe that honesty is the best policy. Even when the truth does hurt. I say the truth now hurts less then being misled and finding out the truth later on. But hey, that's just me.

I am a writer and social critic. I have an advanced degree from a midwestern university. I have developed a web/blog-site where I dote on my cats, and comment on how my personal life intersects with and critiques broader social and political issues. I'm kind of a loner--at least I'm not afraid of being alone. In fact, a casual interest in Buddha, meditation and yoga has helped me understand and alleviate suffering in my life. It's helped me to understand and value "being in the moment," one of modern culture's appropriated and, I think, misundertood concepts for navigating daily life.

I am a semi-typical nerd who has a solid opinion on most topics, but can't decide on a career path. Maybe it is because as soon as I definitively choose, all my other dreams will be crushed. I enjoy computers debate entertainment such as movies, TV, games, music

I believe the only 3 true religions are atheism, agnosticism, and deism, because they are the only three religions that have no problem with free thought, and the only ones that don't try to convert you. Being an agnostic myself, I enjoy the company of any of these three, because a deist has a 100 times more in common with an atheist than with a christian. It doesn't make any logical sense, but it's true.

How does one sum up a life. How do you put into a few pharagraph's a whole personality. One can merely try. I've lived in Utah my entire life. I grew up in the mountains near my home town. Seeing that my father was a Park Ranger there for 23 years. I loved it, and it gave me a love for life and the world around me. That I still haven't found often in others. When I see the passion for what someone has for something in life. I strive to make it part of me, or to at least understand what they enjoy so much about it.
I try anything at least twice. Cause I always enjoy knowing for sure that I'm not into it. I'm going back to school this year finally after a long wait. I'm going to be an Engineer who builds and develops green buildings and design.
I love music, and all kinds of different movie's. I love to learn about anything and everything. I talk about anything and everything. I'm up front and honest. I don't like to lie cause I figure the truth is easier, and I enjoy it when others give me the same respect. If you don't like me tell me, and I can respect you for it. I really enjoy being outside and love the mountains and the desert. 4-wheeling is one of my favorite outdoor activities. Building and riding bicycles and skiing also rank high as favorite outdoor activities.

So here is my life story: I was born in Roseburg, Oregon.. and moved to Vallejo and San Diego, California. Lived there for maybe a year. I was a baby lol. Then I grew up in Bremerton, Washington. I love the green state. When I was fifteen me, my sister and my mom moved to Grand Junction, Colorado. Went to high school down there. Met some pretty cool people. Now I live in Provo, Utah. Lets see.. I'm twenty three years old. I have had two strokes from antiphosphyliped syndrome which causes blood clots. Not fun.. but it is life : I don't work.. or go to school yet. I have doctors appointments every couple days. Not fun either : But I guess God has his plans for me :)
I WANT to go back to college and become a Speech Pathologist. I have been a patient after my second stroke, with a speech therapist. I think it would be a fun job! But I recently found out if I go to school out here, BYU is the only school that actually does the speech stuff :/ Hmm I guess that's fine haha. Like I could EVER get into that school.
So my favorite animal is a giraffe. I think they are freakin' cute! And Cheshire Cat is my favorite movie character : I love waterfalls. They are pretty!! I miss the ocean. Guess I'm a pretty nice guy. Kind of a nerd sometimes (computers, video games, movie trivia, ninja turtles, comic books) but some how managed to keep my social skills intact. I'm a big movie fan. I must have 400 of them. Love a night out at the movies, and my tastes range all over, from Horror to even Chick Flicks (in the right company of course).

I'm easy going, spontaneous, and enjoy getting out to do things. I love making people laugh, but don't need to be the center of attention. I'm always willing to try new things and try to live life to the fullest.

I love hiking, especially in the fall. I recently completed a half marathon, and would like to do a full marathon. I am an avid photographer, traveler, and connoisseur of food - fine, foreign, fast, or otherwise.

I'm a pretty simple guy. Besides being in school, my life revolves around my three hobbies of gaming, reading and playing the piano. I am not particularly adept at any of the three but they keep me entertained. Also I am kind of a homebody.

All things that have conspired to expand appreciation for existence.

So I am from a small town in East Texas, yes I do have the accent, and have big dreams for myself. I"m always up for trying something new and I like being spontaneous.

I'm not perfect by anymeans and I do have some flaws such as I have music ADD, but i'd like to think i'm a pretty swell person.

Well, I am originally from Albuquerque, New Mexico. I recently moved up here for my freshman year of college. I am having some troubles at BYU, since my religious views are a little different the rest of my peers. So, I thought I would branch out.

To explain my username. I used to do a lot of theatre down in Albuquerque. I was in multiple musicals. I was Archibald in The Secret Garden, Anthony in Sweeney Todd, and the director in Singing in the Rain. I did lighting for 11 shows while in High School. I really had a fun time doing it.

Working on my AA degree at the moment, Planning on a Bachelors in Game Art & Design out of state. I've been studying drawing, digital painting, and photography to get me ready for that. I take pretty good care of myself I think, exercise as much as possible and eat healthy. I really like the outdoors; skiiing, hiking, and mountain biking are always fun. I might be a bit of a Sci-Fi geek but you'd never know it on the surface.

Not really into religion (Was raised Mormon) but I have researched many for historical and artistic value. I would probably be considered an Agnostic. I'm very accepting and open minded when it comes to others beliefs but I would prefer to date someone who dosent center their life around religion.

Some people have a fun description of themselves. Then when you meet them, they aren't the person they described. So I'll tell it like it is: I am interested in civic endeavors and concerned about our wonderful USA. I love the mountains and city life. I enjoy studying, family history and music. I play the piano and enjoy singing to myself. I'm quiet and reserved. I'm solid and firm. I can see the whole picture as well as the details. I'm looking for an online friend. I haven't uploaded a pic since appearance is not important to me. It's what's inside that counts.

About me ..um, physically I'm 6'4", brown hair/eyes, 140 lbs, and somewhat fit (I mean, i have visible muscle, i just need to work out more). I just started college as a freshman this fall, and looove it. Lots of new and interesting people. No rules!

I'm into, uhm, hanging out .. oh, wait hanging out (sorry), movies, hiking, biking, camping, boating, music!, volleyball and ULTIMATE!!. Never can get enough. Love to go out with people, especially when we have lots of time to talk!

There is one thing about people in the gay scene that bothers me, and its this: that some guys just either don't have the courage or don't have the commitment to stick with it very long. Its like they want to pretend they're straight whenever we go out (which they're not), and are always reserved even when not in public. Come on guys! Stop straddling the fence and choose one side or the other. When you're with one guy, you're either a straight friend or a gay friend. It just really annoys me when someone wants to be both with the same guy (obviously you can be both with different people, it's called being bi :P)

Don't get me wrong, though, gay people can do straight things, and i know straight people can do gay things. But don't not do something because you think it will look gay when you are on the gay scene. Be bold, be unique, and be individual.

Why is becoming a better person such a difficult and painful process?

I like happy. I dig ditzy. Hell, I can even put up with oblivious. But superficial pains me.

Oh, yeah, and though I assume it's obvious, my name is Michael. 'zenMichael' was a nickname i got in college & always enjoyed it. I got it because I could mess with the 'shrooming kids really well and always be about three steps ahead of them even though I was sober. For some odd reason, this impressed people.
